Remote Server - Provides a Word file containing the following help information for the Ham Radio Deluxe Remote Server.

Ham Radio Deluxe Remote Access Server

Note: this only runs on Windows NT/2K/XP. It does not run on Windows 95/98/ME/SE and never will.

Configuration
The configuration file is HRDRemoteSvr.cfg, edit this before starting HRDRemoteSvr.exe.

Port
If you want to change the port number then you must restart HRDRemoteSvr.exe if already started.

Installing The Service
HRDRemoteSvr.exe runs as as service. To install the service:
· Open a DOS window
· CD to the folder containing HRDRemoteSvr.exe
· Enter: HRDRemoteSvr.exe -install
· Start the Services applet from the Windows Control Panel (Start> Settings> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services)
· The service name is HRD RemoteSvr - make any changes required - for example change startup to Automatic
· Start the service (or see Debug below to run in a DOS window)

A logfile is created in the folder containing HRDRemoteSvr.exe .

Security
You must allow incoming TCP/IP access to port 7805 - if necessary you must add rules to your firewall / router.

Debug
To debug HRDRemoteSvr.exe enter: HRDRemoteSvr.exe -debug from the DOS window and copious debug information is displayed.

Connecting
To connect to the Remote Access Server:
· Start Ham Radio Deluxe
· Make a new definition
· Select the Remote port
· The Remote Connection window is displayed
· Enter the connection information for the Remote Access Server.

Using HRD Sync
If you have two rigs which can be controlled by HRD then consider using the HRD Sync program - tune the radio in your shack with the 1st instance of HRD and let the synchronise with the instance of HRD which is controlling your remote radio. More information in HRDSync.rtf.
